I get up when I get up. I go to the gym, come home and sit and sit and sit, then I read. During some of that sitting I watch some good old TV. I'm still a General Hospital Fan.
What did you read?
Some of my teacher friends and I have been meeting once a week for a summer book study/club. We're planning on trying something new in our classrooms this year. Our group consist of one first grade teacher, two second grade teachers, and one ESL teacher. What did you read this summer? We read "The Daily Five" and "The Cafe Book" by the sisters Gail Boushey and Joan Moser.
Each week we decided how many chapters to read for discussion. I am so excited about trying something new this school year. I am also looking forward to getting away from the guided reading model and moving toward using reader's workshop. I will keep you posted during the school year on how it goes. I'm going to go look for ideas on pinterest. Stay tuned for what we are going to read next.
